Where can we find an unlimited quantity of scripts that are guaranteed to have excellent quality to adapt to film or TV in a short amount of time? How can we guarantee a diversity of interesting themes with immediate access? The answer is in the best literary storytellers’ works of world literature.
CROSSED STORIES is the union between short stories by renowned writers that are restructured to for a single story… beautiful tales by great writers tied by a single story where the connections (endings and beginnings) are rewritten to make the adaptation possible. It’s the day-to-day life of the big city, where isolated and parallel facts happen with its people (love, crime, meetings, misfortunes…) and by destiny or coincidence end up crossing paths.
In the first season, there are four 45-minute episodes, but the number of seasons is unlimited. It’s an average of three tales per episode and they work like a succession of random facts that, in the end, interconnect… It’s an urban routine that keeps coming back around.
More than a TV series, it’s also a permanent pro-reading campaign, for it introduces authors to the general public, stimulating reading of other books by that same author. The project partnered with Academia Brasileira de Letras, Casa do Saber, Fundação Roberto Marinho and SNEL – national book publishers union.
The project is organized in multiplatform format… snippets of the short stories are published on the internet to be voted for best adaptation with books and iPads filled with E-BOOKS as prizes… the progression of the results maintains the flow in the TV interprograms, web and mobile universes… we create a hotsite for the project, organizing it as a book club through which the author can have their work advertised and sold.
