AUDIO PORTRAIT featuring andreas kisser
HIGHWAY TO HELL
SEPULTURA is the most globally successful Brazilian band, but life on the road is not easy. HIGHWAY to HELL is a report on life on the road, which undulates between heaven and hell. Representative of the Heavy Metal movement, with an internationally renowned career, Andreas Kisser travels around with his music across the four corners of the Earth. And it’s exactly on these tours that he gets in touch with cultural differences across the globe. The musician tells us how much he has learnt about differences, he talks about the difficulties of life on tour, and the many sides to the metallic tribe family. On the show, he plays the greatest Heavy Metal classics (songs from ACDC, SCORPIONS, METALLICA…) with the KISSER CLAN, the band he is putting together with his son, Yohan Kisser.
The series AUDIOPORTRAIT delivers the word so the artist can develop a theme that has never been talked about. It is a show about the person, not the persona, giving the spectator an opportunity to join intimately the real person. It’s like a casual conversation where the spectator is in the second row, behind the silhouette of another participant.
It is a show that stemmed from the documentary WHITE BLACK and BLUES with BB KING, filmed in a differential format… it wasn’t just the music… it was a testimony about an issue that has impacted his career and, more than anything, a life’s story. In BB KING’s case, as a blues musician, touring across America for over sixty years, he narrated the changes in African-American civil rights during the second half of the 20th century, where music had an instrumental role. As an eyewitness to everything that was going on, he has credit as a consistent narrator, mixing narrative with musical performances. It’s not the career… it’s a point of view… an AUDIO PORTRAIT. Music is only the frame where history, in form of a testimony, truly shines… great developments narrated by someone who lived them.
